Tobias “Four” {Biography}
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS!
My Own Say on Tobias:
Tobias (or more commonly known as “Four”) is one of the leads in Divergent. He’s only 18 years old and has deep-set dark blue eyes. According to Veronica Roth, he has dark brown hair. He was described as ‘handsome’ by Tris & her mother. (And I assume, other people too.)
In the book, he is first described as a fearless-bad-ass-mysterious-dauntless-instructor-that-everyone-fears. But as time goes by, Tris (the lead female protagonist of Divergent) & Tobias somehow fall in love with each other (after all the brutal events and electrifying decisions all of them have been through), he begins to reveal his soft-&-caring-concerned-boyfriend side.
History:
Tobias was born and raised in the faction “Abnegation: the Selfless” but after the Choosing Ceremony, due to his father’s abusive ways (& his Divergence), he decides to leave his family behind and join the Dauntless faction (aka the Brave-bad-ass faction). After he entered this faction, he undergoes the initiation and he discovered his fears:
- Heights
- Closed Spaces (Claustrophobic)
- Shooting (this woman)
- His Father, Marcus (Hitting him with a belt and putting him in the closet)
1,2,3 & 4. Those are Tobias’ fears therefore they call him “Four”. He’s the person with the fewest fears. (Which makes him look even more awesome.) Anyways, after all that initiation process and stuff, he was ranked Number 1 overall. He was offered a government job but he refused it because he didn’t want much so he worked in the control room instead and is assigned to be the instructor of the future transfers (aka Tris’ batch). —AND THEN THE REAL STORY BEGINS.
Relationships:
It made me wonder why that “whopping 2 year gap” was such a big deal in Divergent. Tobias is just 18 and Tris is just 16 but people (Like Eric and Tris herself) find it odd. They say Tobias is too old for her. WHY?! Well, that’s dystopian Chicago. If they found out that their ancestors *cough us nowadays cough* marry others who are very old or very young for them, they’ll surely be disgusted or something.
Anyways, that “Unexpected Romance” thing happens to be Tobias & Tris. hmm.. that was so unexpected… But I will forever ship them. FOUR & SIX FOREVER!
